Gare Maritime
A former 19th-century train station, Gare Maritime on the Tour & Taxis site in Brussels has been transformed into an exemplary hub of sustainable renovation, combining offices, retail spaces, and public areas beneath a vast restored hall.
This monumental timber redevelopment incorporates 10,000 m³ of wood, making Gare Maritime the largest CLT construction in Europe.
Designed by Neutelings Riedijk Architects and developed by Nextensa, the project breathes new life into industrial heritage while meeting the highest environmental standards — achieving BREEAM Outstanding certification and operating as a fossil-free, energy-neutral building powered by geothermal and solar energy.
